Went in with a flat tire on my BMW and found that at 30,000 miles, I really needed a new set. I'd figured on that, and I'd done some research on replacements. Danny helped me at Duxler, and offered two options. One of them was the top rated tire from my research, at a good price. Special kudos must go to Danny. They were out of loaner cars so he lent me his own, personal car to use while they installed my new tires. That's service. My only complaint is that they didn't clean off the brake dust from the wheels while they had them off, so it looked messy. But when I mentioned it, Danny personally went out with a cloth and took care of it. This is my second good experience with Duxler, and I'll be back again.

So I just had my very first visit to Duxler. I'm very leery of auto shops so I'm still reserving some judgement but from what I saw it seemed to be an okay place. I had my oil changed and it wasn't very busy when I stopped by, but it is a new location for them. I was impressed by the cleanliness inside and the waiting area accommodations. They had no less than 12 different NEW magazines for my perusal, as well as a working TV and a sign boasting free wifi with the login info. It really makes me wonder why other places only leave one ratty Car and Driver mag from 5 months ago when a decent supply would only cost $100 per year. The kids section was also well stocked with a big rug, train table and set, books, tikes car and several other play sets. They also offered juices, sodas and chips for the kids for free. It made me wish I had brought my son. My oil change took less than 20 minutes which is the quickest I've ever experienced, though for the first time ever I wouldn't have minded staying longer. It's in an area that actually has a lot of business so you could walk across the street and browse 15 different stores if you wanted to. So I'll continue giving them business until they give me a reason not to.

I live in Portland, Or. and my 22 year old daughter (whom still considers herself a dependent!) lives in Bucktown and works in Northbrook. She broke down on the Edens and of course the first thing she does is call me in Oregon! She was on her second day of a new job so I was panicked that she would end up REALLY being dependent if I didn't get the car fixed quick and get her to work. I got on google to find a shop close to her work to tow the car so she could get to work fast as possible. I knew this was a gamble......choosing an auto mechanic just by location but I am happy to say I got lucky and was completely happy with the service I received from Matt and the crew at Duxler. He took a lot of time to explain it all and get the job done right. I'm glad we have a place we can count on because with this car...96 Passat....we will be back! P.S. I do NOT recommend Passats!

Family-friendly auto shop with quick service & insightful mechanics. Love the kids' train track set and the baby cars. In addition to my own service I saw people getting work, in-and-out on lunch breaks.Cool place if you need help around Lake/Cook Rd.
